Wicca symbols and other pagan designs have been with mankind for thousands of years. Today they are still used by witches to focus energy during rituals or to concentrate upon a specific element or deity. Rooted in the dynamics of our planet and solar system, wicca symbols and beliefs are a rich inheritance from our ancestors. There are many wicca symbols, here are the basic ones.

The most powerful of the wicca symbols is of course the pentacle. Made up of a combination of the wicca symbols for the five elements - earth, water, fire, air and spirit - the pentacle thus created is enclosed inside a unifying circle. Of all the wicca symbols the pentacle offers the most powerful protection when worn on the person, the power of which can be further enhanced by the choice of metal used for the pentacle. If the pentacle is made of silver you will invoke the added protection of the moon goddess and if of gold of the sun god.

Other wicca symbols include the spirit circle which has two crossing four pointed arrows within a circle which also represents the five elements.
