The Celts held nature sacred and paid special attention to animals that they believed possessed power and strength. By symbolizing these animals they believed these traits would be passed onto them. Unicorns were endowed with different powers ranging from virility to healing, joy and life. The horse was associated with victory and power in war while the Raven had the power to create and protect.

The spiral is said to symbolize the cycle of life being life, death and rebirth while others believe it symbolizes male, female and child on their path of life.

The Celtic symbol for friendship is another Celtic symbol with meaning. It is today symbolized by the popular fede or faith rings. Consisting of two clasped hands they represent not only friendship but also loyalty, faith and fidelity. This symbol is also referred to as the Claddagh.
